Our guide to boutique shopping in Philly

The Kimpton Hotel Palomar is centrally located among the best shopping in Philadelphia and our Shop Like a Local program gives guests an insider’s look at some of our favorite stores.

Following in the footsteps of our growing city, this year we include the rising neighborhoods of Fishtown and South Philadelphia. Use our guide as a jumping off point for discovering what you love about Philly. Planning a stop at Gentry + Rose in Fishtown? Be sure to stop by La Colombe for a draft latte and to see some of their roasting machines. Going shoe shopping at Bus Stop Boutique? Spend some extra time on 4th street to check out the other shops of Fabric Row.

In addition to spotlighting our preferred retailers, this guide provides exclusive “Kimpton Perks," offers only available to Hotel Palomar guests. Show your Kimpton Hotel Palomar room key to the retailers below to receive a special gift or discount.

Live Like A Local

Aside from our amazing retail partners, we wanted to share a few must-visit spots while staying in Philadelphia. We love art, ice cream and giving back!

The Dandelion Restaurant

When we’re not shopping in Philadelphia... we are most likely eating delicious food! One of our favorite local stops is The Dandelion for their daily tea tasting parties. Choose from three different tier options: Who Stole The Tarts (pastries and tarts), Down The Rabbit Hole (sandwiches and canapes), or A Royal Occasion (both of the previous options plus tea for 4 included). Aside from being the most perfect Instagram moment, the mini bites are quite toothsome. Let us know if you go by sharing a photo to your feed with hashtag #ShopLikeALocalPHL.

Kimpton Perk: Show your room key and receive a complimentary glass of sparkling wine with purchase of afternoon tea service.

La Colombe

Newly served in-house at Hotel Palomar, La Colombe coffee is a local favorite. Expanding their wings from Philadelphia to Chicago, LA, D.C. and beyond, we can’t get enough of the draft latte and Pure Black cold brew on tap – both are highly recommended. The nearest location is conveniently located on 19th Street – just a few blocks from the hotel. Grab a table by the large windows and people watch while you sip. If you’re on the move, they also offer canned versions of select drinks.
