The best of the best among Center City Philadelphia restaurants
Center City is known for its gastronomic pleasures, and for good reason. This is the city's epicenter of grand cuisine and no restaurant appeals to foodies more than Square 1682, located adjacent to the Hotel Palomar.
Inside, you'll discover the lively kitchen where Chef de Cuisine Caitlin Mateo uses her culinary lens of American cuisine combined with world influences to create masterpieces all day long. The aroma of Mateo's cuisine immerses the senses the moment you walk in. Under the guidance and mentoring of Square 1682 Executive Chef Guillermo Tellez, Mateo draws from only the best ingredients the region has to offer by sourcing from sustainable, local and organic produce and meats procured from Philadelphia farmers markets. It's no wonder Square 1682 is Philadelphia's first LEED-certified, green eatery and bar.
Not to be outdone by their culinary counterpart, Lead Bartender and Head Mixologist of Square 1682, Chauncey Scates play an essential role in bringing the bar and lounge into focus. Chauncey's bold and refreshing cocktails challenge the art of libations. "Making a drink was once a craft... we're just returning to those roots." Chauncey's cocktail menu is the fusion of fresh seasonal ingredients and fresh imagination and the notable beer list features wonderful old standbys as well as a dazzling array of local craft brews.
Cheers!
