Sweet Wedding Inspiration in Philadelphia

Coming full circle at Rittenhouse Square

Some say love is blind, but for real estate analysts Kent and Michelle, love came about thanks to a blind date! One of Michelle's co-workers set the pair up, and a connection sparked. With Michelle hailing from Philadelphia and having lived in Center City for a few years, the couple had a special place in their hearts for Rittenhouse Square; the Kimpton Hotel Palomar Philadelphia's location made the venue decision a breeze. In the Burnham Ballroom, filled with flowers, violinists and an abundance of love, the couple exchanged vows and a few personal readings in a non-denominational ceremony. The wedding proved nothing short of spectacular.

Memorable Details

The morning of the big day, the couple awakened with coffee and tea en suite at the Palomar; the family and wedding party arrived at a leisurely pace. The photography happened naturally and unrushed, with Rittenhouse Square as the gorgeous backdrop. The couple even stopped traffic—literally—during several of their shots.

“We feel that the Palomar is sophisticated, has a great location and yet has a boutique-like feel that we wanted," said Michelle.

"The feedback I received from the guests was amazing," said Michelle, who wore a stunning beaded and floral gown by Allure Bridals.

After partaking in cocktails, the party returned to the Burnham Room, only to find it completely transformed for the reception. Tables had been set up, lighting dimmed and centerpieces and flowers put in place—creating an enchanting ambiance. And the cake, provided by the Palomar, nearly stole the show. "We're still raving about it!" said Kent.

On their honeymoon night, the couple stayed in a Palomar suite, before flying to Arizona the next morning for their honeymoon. "When we look back at the pictures, we have amazingly fond memories of that day, and our choice to have the wedding at the Palomar is one of the primary reasons," Michelle added. If a hotel could blush, color us pink as a rose!
